Sylvia became an Artist Member of the American Society of Marine Artist (ASMA) that encouraged her to research ships, past and present. Her work has been in many maritime shows in museums across the country, including the ASMA National Show in Vero Beach, Florida and in the Coos Bay, Oregon Maritime Museum Annual Show as Featured Artist. Sylvia is an Artist Member of the California Art Club. Her work was in the Gold Medal show in the Pasadena Museum of California Art and has been sold in galleries in La Jolla, Carmel, Las Vegas and Scottsdale, to name only a few. Sylvia’s work has also been purchased and displayed by the United States Coast Guard among many national companies and institutions.
Presently, Sylvia works in her studio in Prescott, Arizona.

Sylvia Waters is a traditional painter of people and places. She was born in southern California and had an interest in art at an early age. Sylvia painted commission portraits and then began painting seascapes from her surroundings. Sylvia received many awards and some of her work was put into print, signed limited edition lithographs.
